From the Editor

Well everyone, it's here. I have certainly enjoyed helping put it together. I would like to thank the people who helped, by contributing their work, their thoughts, their ideas, concerns and challenges to this project.
I have to acknowledge (with gratitude) the importance of the community at Skinz.org.
Most of our little journalistic family are frequenters of the site, and many of us met through it's auspices. Many thanks.
And also, from myself, personally, thanks to Jumbles. She has been a source of great inspiration and good friendship for quite some time now, and I would not have had the courage to try this without her.
And of course, to the great folks who have chosen to participate in this. To each of you:
Thank you for your hard work, your time, your talent and your help.
I really hope we get to do this for a long time.
It is a great honor to work with each of you.

Now, I bet some people are looking at the mag, and thinking, "Well, where's the art?"
The answer is: It's inside you.
And of course, it's all over the internet.
This is a magazine for you, Skinner, and we know you know where to go to look at skinz. This magazine is a companion to your interest, a look inside and around, under and through the world of skinning. We will attempt to keep the graphic content of the magazine sparse and elegant.

Also, I bet some people are looking at the mag, and thinking, "Well, where are the ads?"
For now, Teknidermy is ad-free. Economic conditions in the future may press us to accept some sort of advertising on the site. If it comes to that, we will attempt to find one classy sponsor, rather than indulge in "bannerism". Wish us luck. If you are a philanthropist, and would like to help a little e-zine stay ad-free, we would love to hear from you!

Teknidermy is still seeking staff. If you like this magazine, and have something to contribute, please fee free to write us. Especially if you are a programmer with experience writing skinnable programs, or an attorney who has experience in copyright law.

Please, if you like the magazine, take the time to subscribe. Why? Well, for one thing, two months is a while between issues, and all subscriptions consists of is volunteering to get a simple bulletin when the next issue comes out. Our sub list is kept by our webmistress, in strictest confidence.

NEXT ISSUE- Jan./Feb. 2000: In Issue 2, Teknidermy will take a look at the ladies.
Women are the majority on the net, and there are many really talented ladies working in the skinning community. Our next issue will feature some of them.

Thank you for taking the time to read my comments, and for looking over the magazine. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.
