Envision your thumb and index finger a fraction apart. That's how close I was to releasing this very same issue this time last year.
Here at Tek we used to call our editor, Kenray, a slacker, 'cause he started slacking more and more over the years. Not showing up at meetings and so on. But it seems this here replacement editor has broken Ken's record.
Eighteen months no Tek. Hot damn.
It's hard to pinpoint the exact reason why it took so long to make this issue. One things certain though, its name is crae.
Our founder and editor, the aforementioned Ken, has more or less left us (and quite some time ago too). He felt he was no longer in touch with Skindom as it is today. Most of the newcomers will probably don't even remember who he is and what he did.
Since I had been doing most of the editing of Tek anyhow, he passed on the puppet's strings to me. Trouble is, I'm slipping the way of the Ken myself. This consumer driven Skindom is not the world of skinning I am interested in.
Hence the delay.
Funny thing is, our other remaining team member, Doreen, has been wandering off herself as well. Primarily into the world of the Pocket PC, that is. One could wonder what that spells for this little ezine of ours.
But enough of the grimness for now. Even though most of the scene ezines have bitten the dust, the crutaceans over at Shell-Shocked are still alive and kicking and there's some fresh blood even, in the form of our mecs at Esthetika.
Before you lies the thirteenth issue of Teknidermy. Still the only independent and unbiased *cough* ezine on all things skinning in the English-speaking hemisphere.
While I have been slacking, Doreen certainly hasn't and so she has consistently and steadily been doing interviews with various people on various subject both related and unrelated to skinning an sich, which ended up as a large queue of articles in my inbox.
Since I find it extremely disrespectfull to do an interview with someone and then never publish the result, this issue will consist fully of those old and dusty interviews, along with a couple of articles that already were published. Any articles (as in: not interviews) that I had planned (and written) for this issue will get canned for now.
“Wait a sec, that stuff is over a year old”, I hear you say.
Oh yeah, it's ancient. But interviews don't age that fast. Or do they?
Think of it as a time-capsule of sorts. Looking back at the world of skinning as it was a year ago. 'Sides, retro is hot.
Will we be back? In another eightteen months? Who knows.

Thazzz right I'll go interview everyone's momma next! hehe j/k
Yes Brubby as long as the dutchy guy is around I'm around too I guess... (anyone else can submit articles and interviews to us too)You had to do the over haul of the site too!!!! It needed it badly. You forgot to mention that. You did a beautiful job on the css, and I noticed the sweet menus on the bunnies that link to the rest of the issue (I'm loving that).
I think another thing that should be mentioned is the understaffing here. I need to start including a mention that Tek is looking for writters in my articles. Heck, I need to do some writing myself.
It just seems to me there were a lot of factors to the delay, and I've got to give you a lot of credit for sticking with it. Some ppl wouold have just said "It's basically dead, so I'm killing it" and let die, but you guys kept it on life support.
Fact is there is a lot of hope for Tek. It's got die-hard fans, a large target audience, and can be posted as news at massive sites.
*craeonics puts red on the team as article angler
Articles on the effects of real life on the community? What does he mean? like, Dr. Skinner can you please tell me how to stop skinning it's interupting my real life?
(that stuff? I'm lost what he means)I think Fallout meant: Why is the community disintegrating? Because of real life? How much priority do skinners put on skinning?
And so speakith the grim editor.
Yes, we will be back but eightteen months? we will seee (only if dutchy decides not to break that record and go 24 months) hehe
